I hope this letter finds you well and in good health.
On Friday I wrote that TDSO would remain open this week. That decision was based on conversations I had directly with Ottawa Public Health. Since that time Ottawa Public Health has changed their position and has now instructed that people should not go out for “non-essential reasons.”
With this in mind TDSO will be closed for a minimum of two weeks starting Monday, March 16, 2020. The exact length of time will depend on the recommendations from the medical community here in Ottawa. I encourage parents not to make play dates for their children and to respect the recommendation to maintain proper social distances at all times.
Tomorrow, the staff will be meeting to discuss the alternative educational program we will be implementing later this week. Our goal is to move to an online platform allowing learning to continue. I will be sending out a detailed email about this tomorrow afternoon.
I would like to encourage all parents to come to school tomorrow between 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm to pick up their children’s school materials. This is crucial so they can continue to work at home. Please follow the schedule below:
Last names from: A-L from 1:30 - 2:30PM
M-Z from 2:30 - 3:30PM
Our prayers go out to those who have contracted the Coronavirus that they should have a Refuah Shlema and that the world should be spared any more suffering from this illness and all illness. Amen!
