Welcome to Torah Day School of Ottawa

Nurturing and engaging young minds, and inspiring children to grow and flourish as Jewish leaders.

So what is this program, and how does it work?

The Move to Ottawa $100k Incentive Program is a partnership between Torah Day School of Ottawa and a group of local funders who value vibrant Jewish life, but recognize the challenges of living and affording a Torah lifestyle in larger Canadian Jewish communities. The answer, we believe, is Ottawa - large enough to offer the amenities that foster vibrant Judaism, yet small enough to offer the warmth and affordability that families need to establish roots and enjoy those amenities. (Click here for more about what makes the Ottawa Jewish community such a wonderful place to live and raise a family.)

In recent years we have heard from many families outside of Ottawa who are grappling with this challenge, and who see Ottawa as the solution. At the same time, making a move to a new city can generate costs that can be a barrier. And for those families who have been shut out of the real estate market up to this point, having the funds for a down payment can be a challenge, even at Ottawa's lower real estate prices.

To bridge this gap we are offering assistance of up to $100,000 for families to use towards a down payment on a house in Ottawa. For those families who want out of the financial and social pressures of larger Jewish communities, or who are living in small communities without the infrastructure they need to live an enriching Jewish life, Ottawa is the answer. This program will give those families the boost they need to make this move a reality.

If you are one of those families, or if you think you might be but want to learn more, then please be in touch. You can find out more information and complete the initial and committment-free application questionnaire here. After completing the form a member of our team will reach out to you to set up a time to chat and learn more about Torah Day School, the incentive program, and Jewish Ottawa.
