David is a dedicated and experienced Jewish educator who believes that inspiring the Jewish youth of today will secure a Jewish future for tomorrow. David is a Jewish music teacher and chazzan who joined the TDSO family for the 2022-23 school year.
David was born in Montreal and moved to Seattle in 2009 with his wife, Danielle. David taught at the Seattle Hebrew Academy for 12 years, as the music teacher, programs coordinator and Jewish studies teacher for Grade 1. He graduated Concordia university with a bachelors in psychology and finished his Masters of Jewish education and administration at the Azrieli program at Yeshiva University. David was also the chazzan at his shul in Seattle for 8 years and has led services for shuls around the world. David is also an experienced Bar Mitzvah teacher and has been training boys for their Bar Mitzvahs for over 25 years.
David moved to Ottawa with his wife and three children in the summer of 2021. He volunteered at TDSO for a year before coming on board as a staff member for the 2022-23 school year. David is a huge hockey fan and encyclopedia of hockey knowledge. He enjoys going to hockey games to root for his favorite teams, the Montreal Canadiens and the Seattle Kraken. David also plays several instruments and enjoys writing and recording music in his spare time.
